Thursday 10th of March: Extra Task


There is links to various museums and their services.
Work in with your team. Choose couple of sites to look them closer
define:
1) the user: who is able to use, who is motivated and interesting to use, what will the user get from the site, how user interacts with the site
2) the interface: could it be multimodal, used with other senses than sight and hearing, isit usable for all kind of users, culturally? Go through the recommendations for culture sites given in http://www.kulttuuriakaikille.fi
3) the content - is it appropriate, what kind of database and information there is behind? Who manages the content?

Be prepared to present the result of your work 16th of March (in Luvia)

The content, learning objectives and tasks


Content: The course consist of mainly hands on projects; students are supposed to produce in 4-5 cross disciplinary teams a service concept and interface for an application designed for large audience. The team works will be present in the end of the course. The best concepts will be picked out to final production. 
 
The teaching and tutoring is organized together with units in Pori from Aalto University, University of Turku, Tampere School of Technology and Satakunta Applied University (SAMK) 
 
During the Course students form multidisciplinary working groups. They divide their work in side the group so that there necessary recourses for cross media production – management, content production and user research, interface design, programming, productizing. The teams produce a proto or demo from their concept to present to the customer. The production period is 3 weeks.
 
Working methods:  Lectures, discussions and concept production. Pass/ fall 80 % presence and active participation of cross media production team
